Aloha Scholarship Applicant,

Before you begin writing essays or uploading documents, you’ll need to finish the Personal Information & Eligibility Confirmation component. This section helps us verify who you are, confirm your graduation status, and determine which scholarships you qualify for — including the Foundation Scholarship and all Legacy Scholarships.

We created this FAQ to answer common questions, clear up confusion, and help you avoid small mistakes that can delay your application. Take your time, read through each item carefully, and use this guide as you move through the form.

BASIC APPLICATION QUESTIONS

Who can apply?

James Campbell High School Seniors and Alumni.

What personal info do I need?

Email, full legal name, mailing address, phone number, DOB, gender, shirt size, graduation year, and whether you received a Foundation Scholarship before.

What extra info is required?

- Seniors: Intended major, college you plan to attend, parent/guardian contact.

- Alumni: Intended major, college you currently attend.

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY (Quick Guide)

You MUST meet ALL requirements:

- Current Foundation member (Aug 1, 2026 – Mar 31, 2027)

- Three signed Letters of Recommendation

- Seniors: Letter of Acceptance Alumni: Current class schedule/registration

- Choose a Foundation essay questions and and write an essay

LEGACY SCHOALRSHIPS (Quick Guide)

You MUST qualify for the Foundation Scholarship first!

*Frelynn & Rogan Kahalehili Scholarship (Seniors only)

All 4 years at JCHS + 40 hrs community service outside school, + 20 hrs school-related service.

*Alan H. Kodama Scholarship (Seniors only)

Played a sport + accepted to a 4‑year college.

*Frances Rivero Scholarship (Seniors & Alumni)

Hale Pono Ewa Beach Boys & Girls Club member + leadership at Club, JCHS, or college/university.

*John & Lei Mahoe Aloha Legacy Scholarship (Seniors)

Female, Hawaiian descent, played a sport at JCHS.

*Roxanne 'Rocky' Malama Spirit Scholarship (Seniors only)

Cheerleader at any time at JCHS.

*PTSA Community & Service Scholarship (Seniors only)

Senior on track to graduate + not a child of a PTSA member.

ESSAYS & NEXT STEPS

Do I need to write multiple essays?

Yes — the Foundation Essay plus every Legacy Essay for each scholarship you qualify for.

What happens after I submit the Personal Information & Eligibility form?

You’ll get an email copy of your responses. Then complete:

- Activity & Service Information

- Essay Component

- Submit all required essays
